Responsibilities

The primary function of the Board of Commissioners is to set policies for county operations. The board is also responsible for approving a balanced budget and setting the millage rate for the county each year.

Meetings

Business "Regular" Meeting: 1st Tuesday of the Month, 7 p.m. in the Courtroom

Work session:  3rd Thursday of the Month, 9 a.m. in the Courtroom

Public is welcome to attend.

 

Representation

The Board of Commissioners of Glascock County consists of a Chairman and four Commissioners elected at large.

District 1 - Gibson 

District 2 - Mill Area

District 3 - Mitchell

District 4 - Edgehill

The Commissioners serve 4-year terms that are staggered.  The Chairman, District 1, and District 3 Commissioners are elected during the Presidential cycle.  The District 2 and District 4 Commissioners are elected during the Gubernatorial cycle.
